To provide nurses with an overview of the safe handling, administration and management of chemotherapy agents. Basic cell biology, the pathophysiology of cancer, chemotherapy agents and their side effects, as well as specific treatment regiments and patient management are reviewed. Recommended for all nurses who care for a child receiving chemotherapy treatment.
This study day provides the basis for nurses employed by Monash Children’s Hospital to pursue chemotherapy accreditation. Attendance at the paediatric oncology foundations day is also a prerequisite.
This course is equal to 8 CPD hours
